MEALTIME MELEE v2.1
by Stew Oswald
name by Charlene Gallagher
User Friendly BBS (713)580-1301
INTRODUCTION
Tired of being ridiculed by other users? Did you get wiped out in Global Wars
and feel like getting revenge? Someone not being too friendly to you? Maybe
you just feel like venting some frustration? Well.... Here's the perfect way
to do it. Annhilate them with Green Peas. Blast them with Cream Pies. Or
Melee them with Watermelon. It's all in the NEW online game... MEALTIME MELEE!
OBJECT
Throw food at the other users and try to splat them square in the face, thus
scoring you points and making them lose points (and making them look really
silly with all that food on their face). Winner is the first one to score 999
points. You can not win the game by receiving points from holding a grudge,
and you can not go below the score of zero.
GAME PLAY
Remember those good ole school days, when your mom woke you up at 6:00am, fixed
you a complete breakfast, got you dressed (and made sure your socks matched and
your shoes were on the correct feet), gave you your books, and lunch money, and
sent you on your way to school? Well, you are back to relying on her to give
you lunch money again. You begin the game with $50, but after the first day
you will receive your lunch money, and a cafeteria pass each day. Please keep
in mind that your piggy bank is not a large one and can only hold $99 dollars
when full. If you get up that high you might as well spend some, because you
will not get anymore. With it, you are to buy food and prepare for the daily
food fight. Then, when you enter the cafeteria, you have the chance to splatter
your food all over your targets' faces. Ahhhh, the good ole days!
FOOD SERVING LINE
Food is purchased in the lunch line and you can enter the lunch line as often
as you like. The foods have different characteristics, so they should be
bought with great care (Not too much care, though. Afterall, you aren't going
to EAT it). Some food has a greater range than the other food and some food
has a greater spread and therefore will do more damage. Don't spend all of
your lunch money though, you might want to save enough for a watermelon. If
you buy a watermelon, you can use it as much as you want for one day.
CAFETERIA
After you are through buying the food, you may enter the cafeteria. Here, you
have two minutes to throw the food that you have purchased at three of the
other players. You may want to select the ones that have the highest score, or
maybe the ones that have killed you in another game. Select your 3 targets and
then its into the ring. In the cafeteria you use the following keys:
<---"Z" or "4" "X" or "6"---> "M" or "5" "Q"
move move pick up food quit the cafeteria
left right and throw it before the time is out
To pick up the food you move to where you are standing over the food that you
want to throw and press the "M" or "5" key. You will then "pick-up" the food
and you will see yourself change colors to represent the food you are holding.
Then, just move over to the face that you want to blast and press the "M" or
"5" again. Contact will be made based upon the range that the food has, and if
you connect you will receive points that are based upon where on the target's
face you hit, and the SPREAD and DAMAGE factors of that food. Continue to
melee your targets until the time is out or you are simply out of food. Hurry
though, you only get TWO minutes. Once that time is gone, you'll have to wait
until your mom gives you another Cafeteria Pass (the next day).
TATTLE-TALE
The eyes of the game is the Class "Tattle-Tale". You remember her? She is the
girl with the coke bottle thick glasses that nobody liked. You may want to try
and bribe her to see who picked on you in the cafeteria when you weren't
looking. It only costs $1 and she will tell you about everyone that threw food
at you and even if they hit you and how many points they got for it. As not
to upset anyone that she tattles on she quickly erases the evidence after she
tells you. Be wary however, she will gladly take your bribe even if no one has
picked on you.
GRUDGES
If you find out someone is picking on you, you can hold a grudge against them.
By holding a grudge against someone, if they select you as a target you will
be a menace to them. When they throw food at you, even if they don't hit you,
you might throw it back at them. If you throw it back at them, they will be
the ones with food on their face and you'll get points for it, and you won't
even have to play. But you can only hold a grudge against one person at a
time, so make sure you pick someone you are wanting to get revenge on. You can
change your "grudge" at any time.
NOTES
You may pass notes back and forth to other players via the Note Center. You
may want to leave messages telling the "pea-plastered players" how good they
look in green. Or you may want to team up with other players to melee the
leader. It's up to you, just don't let the teacher see or she'll read it to
the whole class.
TEACHERS' PETS
(Registered Versions Only)
The Teachers' Pets will be given a "Learning Curve". A "Teachers' Pet" is a
player that has 200 or less points. Learning Curves increase your odds (Range)
or hitting your targets. Your Sysop may elect to turn off Learning Curves.
